The Early Learning Center (ELC) welcomed Michelle Levero  as Principal in the summer of 2016.  This school year (2024-2025) marks the  beginning of her 30th year in education.  Michelle’s objective is to create a learning environment that is focused on best practices for young learners that builds a strong foundation for future school success and a true love for learning.

Prior to joining the New Albany Plain Local School District, Ms. Levero served as  Director of Regional and Early Childhood Education Programs.  While in this role she provided educational programming for Pre-K thru Grade 12 students  in a five county consortium of school districts for 16 years . Ms. Levero’s background and teaching experience in early childhood education, literacy, data analysis, and special education are a tremendous asset to the ELC in supporting staff and students. Ms. Levero is a leader in early learning, advocates for early childhood education with the state legislature, and is a successful grant writing recipient. Ms, Levero has served on many state level committees and has presented at state conferences focused on early learning instructional practices, leadership and data analysis.  Prior to administration, Ms. Levero was a teacher for six years in an integrated preschool classroom.  

Ms. Levero earned her Superintendent and Principal licenses through the University of Dayton, a Master of Arts in Early Education Intervention Specialist from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Early Childhood Education from West Liberty University, Wheeling, West Virginia. She resides in Lewis Center with her husband, Sean; she has two sons, Corbin and Brock and a stepdaughter, Sabrina.

Jaime Slane attended Bowling Green State University and received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading. She earned an additional Master's degree in Educational Administration at The Ohio State University.

She began her career with the New Albany-Plain Local School District over twenty years ago teaching first grade and has earned the rigorous Master Teacher designation. Jaime has also served as a math and reading specialist for grades kindergarten through fifth. Prior to becoming an administrator, she was serving as an instructional teacher leader working with preschool and kindergarten teachers at New Albany Early Learning Center. She has extensive training with the Bridges in Mathematics curriculum through the Math Learning Center National Leadership Institute and is a certified Bridges Facilitator. Jaime has presented at several national conferences on topics ranging from academic data collection to the instructional intervention process.

She has spent the past three years as an assistant principal at New Albany Intermediate School. Jaime is excited to be returning to work with our youngest learners at New Albany Early Learning Center.

Jaime and her husband, Tyler, have two daughters. Leah is in fourth grade and Lauren is in seventh grade.
